Light Your Own Path

following your inner fire with the hermit

How do we learn to navigate & thrive in the dark?

For those of us living in rebel bodies, the answers we seek about how to live a joyful, creative, & meaningful life simply cannot be found in the usual places.

While the books, blogs & spiritual practices we've sought out with fervent hope have helped us, there comes a point in our journey to wholeness & embodiment where the wisdom we need cannot be found anywhere but in the dark wilds of our own souls.

And shit gets scary in there, right?

It's like we're peering down the stairs into a pitch-black basement, and even though we know the medicine we need lies in the darkness below, we get stuck on the first step because who knows what else awaits us in the shadows, possibly ready to pounce.

Here's what we don't need in that moment: we don't need to push, punish, or otherwise force ourselves to take that first step. The very systems that oppress us and have exiled our bodies to the margins have taught us that this is the way to do anything hard: ignore your fears, override your capacity, throw yourself down the stairs no matter the cost to your health & happiness, and to hell with the consequences or cost.

But if what we want is to be in our bodies, to and feel and receive and connect and create in ways that we haven't seen or experienced before, then the old ways of being and doing are absolutely not gonna cut it.

Power-over systems don't want you to know, but another way is not only entirely possible, but wonderfully soft and accessible. (And, dare I say it, maybe even a little bit fun??)

What if the light of your inner fire—literally, the shit that lights you up–could be trusted to lead you down the unknown path that leads you home to embodied joy?

The Hermit, as our collective tarot card for 2025, with their lantern & cloak, will serve as our mentor and guide as we learn how to turn towards, trust, and follow our own inner fire.

Our eyes can adjust to the darkness.

We can befriend the unknown.

We can learn to be our own compass when the old maps become useless.

We can move we curiosity, at a gentle & sustainable pace that honors the soft animal of our bodies.

We can experiment with new ways of being in right relationship with our bodies, our souls, and our community of spirits & kin.

The wilds are dark. The path is unknown. And yet, your light is clear and strong.

The invitation awaits.

Join us in the shadows.

This ritual workshop is a microdose of a bigger body of work called Soft Animal Magic.

Soft Animal Magic is an elemental & archetypal framework designed for witches & weirdos in low-capacity bodies who want to repair embodiment trauma without overwhelm or burnout.

Soft Animal Magic is designed to help you:

  • Rewrite your nervous system story.
  • Orient towards resource & support.
  • Expand your capacity to feel & receive.
  • Take bold creative & relational risks toward liberation.

The vibe? Imagine if The Artist's Way was written by a radical Autistic witch through a decolonial & anti-capitalist lens, and focused on disability justice & neurodivergent liberation.

(Pretty sick, right??)

So, so much more Soft Animal Magic (zine! podcasts! programs!) is coming in 2025!

hello!

I’m
fenn Priest

(AKA the trauma witch)

I am a queer Autistic witch who's made it her life's work to answer the question, Why is it so fucking hard for me to do the things I want to do?

I looked absolutely everywhere for the answer.

I practiced Christian contemplation and Buddhist meditation. I studied yoga philosophy and became a yoga therapist. I trained as a somatic trauma practitioner. I did the witch thing, learning to read tarot and to manifest with the moon. I was in trauma therapy for 6 years. I read ALL of the goddamn books.

(Seriously. All of them.)

As it turns out, none of these modalities were equipped to give me the answer I actually needed, which is that I am multiply neurodivergent (Autism, ADHD, gifted), and, therefore, disabled.

(A truly wild thing to find out in my mid-forties.)

So I set out to create the body of work of my witchy, trauma-nerdy, pattern-seeking, systems-building, empire-burning, complexity-loving dreams.

It's called Soft Animal Magic.

This work taught me that being in relationship with my neurocomplexity and disability, as opposed to treating them like a riddle I needed to solve, is the key to the embodiment, belonging, freedom, and joy I'd been so desperately seeking for so long.

My life has completely changed as a result: I am at home in my body, I am at peace with myself, I have learned how to rest, and how to create a functional, accessible, cozy & sparkly life for myself.

And I have a fierce and unshakeable faith that it can do the same for you.
